Before your appointment.
A few things to have ready before you arrive. Takes less than 10 minutes.
- Complete your intake forms before you arrive
- Bring your dental insurance card if you have PPO coverage
- Bring a photo ID
- Bring recent X-rays or dental records if available
- Be ready to describe your main concern
- Let us know if you are currently in pain or have swelling

§ 03 · Your first visit
What to expect at your first appointment.
A first appointment at KYT is not a pressure situation. It is a diagnostic visit. We find out what is going on, explain it clearly, and give you a written estimate before scheduling anything.
Review of your main concern
We start with what brought you in. Not a generic checklist.
X-rays or 3D imaging
Standard X-rays for most patients. CBCT cone beam imaging when needed for implants, bone levels, or complex cases.
Photos or digital scan
iTero intraoral scan when appropriate for records and treatment planning.
Doctor exam
Dr. Sun reviews all findings with you directly at the chair.
Clear explanation of findings
What we found, what it means, and what we recommend. Before any treatment is discussed.
Written treatment estimate
Estimated cost, insurance applied, and patient portion. Before anything is scheduled.
Same-day care when available
Cleaning, emergency treatment, or simple procedures may be completed the same visit when appropriate.

We work with most major PPO plans and offer options for patients without insurance. For planned treatment, we provide a written estimate before treatment begins.

If treatment is needed, the front desk will help you schedule at a time that works.
Insurance follow-up
We handle claim submission and follow up on your behalf when using PPO coverage.
Post-op instructions
If treatment was completed, you will receive written post-op instructions before you leave.
Recall scheduling
Preventive maintenance and recall appointments scheduled before you leave when appropriate.
