Amlodipine and your teeth

Generic name: Amlodipine · Class: Calcium channel blocker

Amlodipine is a calcium channel blocker used to treat high blood pressure and chest pain.

Amlodipine is one of the most common causes of medication-induced gum overgrowth. The gum tissue around teeth can swell, bleed easily, and trap plaque, which makes ongoing periodontal care a different conversation than usual.
